Working at wings

About Us

Wings Airways is a locally-owned floatplane tour operator offering first-class glacier flightseeing experiences from the historic Juneau downtown waterfront.

Every day, we have the privilege of introducing guests from around the world to the breathtaking Juneau Icefield and the storied Taku Glacier Lodge.

At Wings Airways, we are more than just a company—we are a close-knit team that values each member’s contributions. Every employee plays a vital role in creating unforgettable experiences for our guests, and we take pride in fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.

We are so excited to have you as a part of our team!

What to Expect

Our Season

We fly tours starting the end of April through September. Most of our passengers visit Juneau via a cruise ship so they only have a few hours to experience Juneau. We are proud to offer a tour that is oftentimes the highlight of a guest’s entire trip to Alaska, and we strive to make it a memorable experience for every person who flies with us. We operate seven days a week and can work long hours, but are proud to provide a fun and balanced workplace, and flexibility in scheduling when possible.

Our Tours

We have offered two tours since our beginnings and chose not to expand so that we can continue to do what we do best! The tours are listed below:

  • Taku Lodge Feast & 5-Glacier Seaplane Discovery – 3 hours total
  • 5-Glacier Seaplane Exploration – 45 minutes total

We require our staff to experience both tours and gain a knowledge base of the aircraft used. This allows us to answer any questions asked by our guests, along with providing useful information for tour logistics that will help you be successful in supporting on-time departures and overall safety. To learn more about Wings Airways, more detailed information and history can be found on our website at www.wingsairways.com.

Our Fleet

We operate five DeHavilland Otter floatplanes which hold 10 passengers each. These are unique and well-respected aircraft, and many guests choose us because of these particular airplanes. Each passenger gets a window seat, and all seats are equipped with headsets that guests use to listen to a recorded narration throughout the tour.

Our Team

We hire a seasonal team consisting of pilots, ramp personnel, dock personnel, maintenance personnel and front desk agents to support our summer operations each year. Our staff comes from a variety of backgrounds and locations, and we value each individual’s contributions and feedback. All positions except for maintenance are based at our downtown locations at Merchant’s Wharf; Seadrome and the Alcove.
